Chad's rhythmic phrasing seems to have been influenced by (among other sources) 20th-21st century classical composition. I wonder what some of his favorite percussion scores are and which compositions he has drawn from ?

I was lucky enough to have my dad bring me to an Alan Holdsworth concert in the 1980s. A year before that he drove me to see Buddy Rich. Chad's drums sounded incredible through the p.a. system. It was after the "Road Games" record came out. Crazy good...... (BTW- Chad was playing a new bra...

For my money, I would buy Simon Phillips for most every situation. He has in incredible arsenal of styles and sounds. Hasn't changed the size of his kit in 40 years. I get pretty excited every time I hear him play. Even his small group/acoustic playing is nice. His tuning is always sublime. https://...
