Re: Colaiuta--JOE'S GARAGE-New Transcription / Play alongs
Yeah Joe is a monster, really impressed with his playing, complex but not all over the place. Sneaks some cool shit in there. His time feel is solid. More to this story...I find out through FB that the guitarist has booked a show where I live, but without me. To be fair, I did mention to the drummer...

Re: Colaiuta--JOE'S GARAGE-New Transcription / Play alongs
Just checking on this, really interested in purchasing it. I had quite the experience playing in that Zappa trio. Had one meeting to "audition", one rehearsal that went ooooookayyyyy...then a week before the first of two gigs the bass player sends out an email saying he's suffering from ps...

Not sure many remember Zach Alford. John DeChristopher did a podcast with him. He is KILLER. Love how he plays. Hard hitter, he brought it.

Richard Bailey was 18 when he played on this. Been getting into odd times and figuring out how they work.
His playing is unreal. Not just the technical playing, but his support of Beck is so musical.

Tune takes its time to heat up. Bill is quick and smooth. Friggin Jedi stuff.

These guys have been around, but I just happened upon them. They wear their influences on their sleeves, but it sounds good.

Re: Assorted videos / YouTube thread
I stopped by a really excellent drum shop in Cincinnati called Badges. Highly recommend you check them out. He had so many rides from everyone. I also tried out some Meinl sticks. I was very impressed with the quality and feel. The 5A is a bit lighter than the Vaters I usually use, but it's not a ba...

Re: VINNIE - The thread about Colaiuta
Todd has a lot of great content. I think he's not doing anything with them any longer but there's tons of stuff.

He is smooth. Has his own thing going on, plays just like he did in 1981 with Zappa.

Re: VINNIE - The thread about Colaiuta
I joined Drumeo for a month to check out the Todd Sucherman stuff.
The Vinnie spotlights he did turned me on to so much more VC playing than what I was familiar with. Stuff I never heard that is even more intense and mindblowing. It's been a while since I had that feeling of WTF baffling wonderment.
