I thought he was a English/literary professor...so well read and articulate...JUST like his compositional drumming...then as i listened to this video he pl...

Les Binks KILLED it with Judas Preist on Hell Bent for Leather and Live in Japan... I put Les right there with Steve Smith on Journey Captured as two of the great live rock drumming performances (Tommy Aldridge w Pat Travers is right there as well). His double bass work was so tasty...simple by toda...

Conquer the World and Far More are just SICK tunes... LOVE Far More...bass line on Conquer and VCs hat work is stunning...when was the last popish tune that allowed drums to stretch out so far...some of those fills are ridiculous. The opening hat lick reminded me of Michael McDonald's The Enemy With...

Re: Official Virgil Donati thread

Did someone hijack VD's YTube acct because most of this LP is posted under his name! Why would he do this? Is this the new strategy...pour years of your life into a project and spend a ton of cash only to give it away for FREE? We are living in wrong times...this is seriously bad insects... I admit,...

Not sure the "bad rap" on Portnoy...you know what kind of gonads it takes to leave Dream Theater? Seriously...he gave up his Linus blanket to jump into the dark cold lake of unknown. Dude is an artist... Loved that Matt G tune...so clean, such a tight perfectionistic drum sound and executi...

Excellent Luke Int... Got an email from a buddy who was in Japan working and is friends with Greg B...he went out after a Ringo gig and hung with the boys...said Luke was great... humble, funny, raw and as a TOTO fan gracious to answering the same questions he's been asked 1000x. Just a great dude h...
