Re: Maple drumsticks?

I actually keep a pair of the Todd Sucherman sig models in my bag strictly for low volume gigs. I generally use a Vater 5B wood tip hickory, and the Todds are really close in size. They feel a little too light these days for louder volume situations but for quiet stuff I love them

Re: LIVE FAKES - Listened but not played live

I've been utilizing a click in my in-ears live for about a year or so now, really low in the mix, just to start off the tempos consistently (plus we're toying with the idea of utilizing some loops in a Peter Gabriel sort of fashion). Otherwise there's nothing else we really use. Just the seven of us...

Re: Tuning John Bonham's Drums

My favorite rock drum sound too. The reason I picked up a pair of sticks in the first place, 22 years strong now, was thanks to listening to Bonzo's drumming with my dad. And yes, those amber Vistalites look insanely cool. A shop near me has a replica kit with the same exact sizes. I was salivating ...

Re: Drumming prowess based on band

Morgenthaler, I have a feeling I know who you may be talking about (although I do quite enjoy his playing if we're referring to the same person). Re: Music Documentaries

"Back and Forth", the Foo Fighters one, is a favorite of mine. I've watched it probably about a half dozen times, and it's absolutely fantastic. Ditto on Anvil, Buena Vista Social Club, and so many of the others already posted about. "Standing In The Shadows of Motown" is another...

Re: Little John Roberts

That dude just kills it every time. He GOES FOR IT on everything he plays. Rudy Ment, who used to post here frequently, turned me on seriously to Lil' Jon Roberts. Incredible player.
