Re: Drummer was killed in the attack in England.

This whole incident is so sad. Unfortunately, anti islamic feeling has been rising since the incident which is exactly what these terrorists are trying to foster - hate. I hope as a country we don't fall into the trap they lay out in front of us.

Re: Remo Coated Ambassador X

Just replaced the G2 on my snare for the ambassador x. Sounds twice as resonant, but just as fat. It's a good balance. There's a video of me playing it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35Gl3Lx2rss

Re: Kids choosing video games or instruments...

I personally think the answer is balance. I personally used to play a lot of N64 and PS2 in my youth, all the while listening to music. It's a great way to calm down after school/work and get into a different head space. Practice is only really effective if you're in the right mindset, so having a b...

Re: The Winery Dogs

At least it's better than Yellow Matter Custard... That project was pretty shocking. Guess he's got a bit more time on his hands these days (when he's not throwing a tantrum on stage that is...). +1 on Billy Sheehan - What a monster! Does anyone remember this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va1phBPd...

Re: Vinnie w/Joss Stone last night

Never liked JS. She seems to be trying too hard, and comes off as a bit wedding singer-y. Good to see the big boys laying it down behind her though. Vinnie must be like :| here we go again... (on the inside of course!)

Re: SIMON PHILLIPS - The thread about Simon

Simon is a perfect example of how jazz drummers who later fused rock and jazz(Billy Cobham, Tony Williams), had such a huge effect on rock drummers. Influenced by two pioneering jazz drummers, Simon doesn't play a note of jazz. He's a rock drummer, and yet because of his influences he has a jazz ph...

Re: SIMON PHILLIPS - The thread about Simon

What I love most about Simon is his ability to be able to sound like himself on anything he plays on. He never seems to compromise, even down to his wide open tuning, which I guess is the sign of a true artist. IDENTITY.
