Re: Neil Peart

Dig the Jacobs Ladder. They did a great job. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viL9lvIHJpk Last album / tour with the double bass live. Loved this tour. They always sound great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-e1cETeP-4 Must have watched this live concert over 200 times. Neil was always a hard hitter.

Re: Neil Peart: dead at 67

Sad to hear of his passing. He was a big influence in my younger years. Got to see the very last Rush show at the LA Forum.

Re: Assorted videos / YouTube thread

Deen still playing and singing!Looks like this band has been around for a few years. 80's rock.

The snare fill in the beginning of the tune is super cool. Vinnie stuff.

Re: VINNIE - The thread about Colaiuta

That Dan Rosenboom tune doesn't sound like Vinnie at all. Steve Smith meets Simon Phillips vibe? Jury is out.

Re: Official Virgil Donati thread

Forgot to mention the drum sound. What happened! Drums on his other solo albums sound huge. Snare drum has zero body/depth. Some tunes i think it was on purpose. Sounds like he is using a dryer ride cymbal. the snare drum is missing on this new album. Writing wise it’s in the vane of In This Life.

Re: Official Virgil Donati thread

Two listens so far. Not really digging the tunes. In This Life is a must have. The Dawn of Time classical vibe is amazing. The new album has so many amazing moments. Gummy bear stuff. Stretching the groove any which way. He’s a wizard! No tunes that are melodic in nature. There are plenty of moments...

Re: VINNIE - The thread about Colaiuta

Played the audio version of this tune many times. Awesome footage! Thanks Vinnie for putting it out there for all to see. Effortless ideas and execution! Vinnie will always be the most creative drummer of all time. GOAT! His playing is better than ever. Gets better with age like a fine wine.
