Re: David Lee ROth w/ VH again?

YES! I think Alex plays brilliantly on this new album. It sounds fresh and inspired. I quite have enjoyed listening to it so far...

I really wonder how he gets that signature snare sound!?

Re: Buddy Rich Tribute Show - London 2012

I would have loved to see Gary Husband for this show. Heard him once in a big band setting (NDR w/Al Jarreau) which was classy and stellar, and never mind the old clip with Syd Lawrence.
Ahh well....

Otherwise, nice line-up. :-)

Re: Drum video - Green Flower Street

Thanks again, guys! Very much appreciated to read this feedback. It sure was an interesting track to cover, and I actually had to build up the stamina for the hi-hat pattern, because it felt quite fast for me. I am not sure how Jeff played that pattern? Probably single-handed as well? Yeah, Pocketpl...

Re: Drum video - Green Flower Street

I didn't! I just play along to the original track. Just trying to not play too much flamming going on.

Re: Drum video - Green Flower Street

Thanks guys! The snare is an mid 90´s Tama Starclassic Maple 14"x6,5" snare, and yeah, you are correct it is a quite medium/loose tensioned batter head, and quite a bit tighter snare side head. Quite unusual tuning for me, but I sometimes like to do that - for a change. And as you can see,...

Re: Drum video - Green Flower Street

Thank you, man!
That hi-hat mic is a Oktava MK-012 cardiod condenser. Quite a bargain for the price, actually.

Drum video - Green Flower Street

Hi guys! Here's just me doing a little cover of Donald Fagen's "Green Flower Street", which as a lot of you probably know has the great Jeff Porcaro on the original recording. I just tried to keep the groove going, with that rather fast hi-hat pattern keeping the groove constant. http://vi...

That actually is a good and very honest answer, Steve, and I feel it resonates with how I feel and where I come from too.

Re: Vinnie/Gretsch divorce?

I liked that North drums ad!! haha What´s wrong with Pearl now? I really do believe that no matter what the Vinster chooses, he will still sound like the amazing superhuman drummer that he is AND have an equally amazing sound. In that I have no doubt!! He could have chosen a cheap ass entry level ki...

Re: New drum room/mic setup = new vid!

Fantastic Steve!! The sound just have gotten much better, and more "ballsy". I really like the kick sound too, and that isn´t always the easiest thing to get a good sound from. And the playing is equally great!
