Recommended Music

I recently picked up three records that I'm really enjoying. I highly recommend checking them out:
* Pat Metheny - Unity Band
* James Muller - Kaboom
* Mike Stern - All Over The Place

Re: Meet the new boss

The way it used to be done is, the leader of the band would give you a cassette tape of all the songs to learn, or charts. But sharing music between musicians for the purpose of learning songs is not the big problem anyway.

I think electronic drums will definitely become more popular though. Especially with all these kids who are growing up with those video ga...

Re: Note Duration (not as dull as it sounds, I hope)

Simon Phillips said something similar in an interview I read many years ago. He was describing the drum pattern in "Face The Face" that he played (Pete Townshend song). Something about playing the bass drum and snare as half-notes and letting the groove breathe.

Re: Smith & Journey...almost

wow... great playing, DSOP..... Ya know, I wonder if Steve's playing would be very close to where it is today, had he taken the Freddie Hubbard gig, instead of detouring through Montrose & Journey. I also miss the style from Players, Vital Info Orion/Global Beat/Fiafiaga periods. Thanks! I thin...
