Buddy's amazing snare work.
I stumbled upon this video a while back and I was completely amazed by Buddy's hand technique. What I particularly liked about this vid was that there were no drums to hide his hands and you could see all the fluidity in his technique. His sound and articulation are perfect, as usual. Very inspiring...

Re: Letterman Drum Solo Week
Roy Haynes has been my favorite without a doubt during this week. He was the most interesting musically to me.
I've been a Neil Peart fan when I first started but the more I hear him, the less I like it. He always seems uncomfortable playing the drums.
The first two solos were ok.

Re: Letterman Drum Solo Week
I think Roy Haynes's solo is my favorite for now. He played ok. I didn't particularly enjoy the first two solos.
And the Vinnie clip from the Buddy Rich tribute is absolutely amazing!! I still listen to it before I go shed.

Re: Dream Theater
This was very entertaining to me to say the least. I'm not really a Dream Theater fan but I found these auditions to be really interesting. It was cool to see all these world class drummers in a situation where they weren't as comfortable as usual. We could see that some were a better fit than other...

Re: WTF Vinnie from the Chaka DVD (UNSEEN FOOTAGE)
Oh, I'm really sorry. I really didn't mean to be rude. I'm kinda new to all his forums stuff, didn't know about forum etiquette but I know about respect so I'll respect your choice and I guess the choices of some other people too. I'll stick around because all of this seems to be pretty cool, drumme...
