Great topic! Will have to check out some of these recommendations. Give a Monkey a Brain and He'll Swear He's the Center of the Universe - Fish as funky as it gets... I've had that record for years! It's definitely my favorite Fishbone outing (Unyielding Conditioning is my all time favorite Fishbone...

It would have been so awesome (however unrealistic it might be for a musician with his touring schedule and visibility) if he just played whatever he wanted and didn't endorse anything. Just saying. I'm sure he has great reasons that we might never know. I just think it would have been a really hip ...

Yeah, Kiko is a monster. I think that Nosso Trio clip is from a DVD that may be available somewhere online. I'm sure one of the guys knows where to find it.

With your dynamics and control you should be able to get a pretty solid sound with two good overheads (I use SM81s) and a decent kick mic (Beta 52, d112, e906, d6, whatever... all in the $200 range) in the room. I use more mics than that, but I'm nowhere near the player you are and need all the help...
