Re: Drum mic packs..
Nice, you must have a big house as that basement looks pretty long. :D Csn you play any time of day and night, ie, how soundproof are you? I've not heard of Extatic, I'll look out for one. I use 13 class series ufip hats. They're nice and crisp. I think I'll put some more moongel on my 15 to try and...

Re: Drum mic packs..
Kit sounds great chris, as does your playing as usual! Floor tom is actually really nice and beefy sounding. Snare is low but I like it. Mics definitely seem to be a good purchase. Is that a garage in your house converted to a studio? What is that Ufip ride cymbal? I'm liking the bell, nice and brea...

Re: Assorted videos / YouTube thread
Wow, I'd never heard Bissonette talk but you guys are spot on, he sounds exactly like in that ad. He's probably the session drummer in that video and the voiceover. Anyway, check out this interview, he's hilarious! Talking about singers thinking everything is too fast or slow, why people want to pla...

Re: VINNIE - The thread about Colaiuta
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwCCETObhWk Amazing playing as usual and interesting hearing him after talk about how he just played. I was struck by the video title ' Vinnie colaiuta suffle' and was expecting his signature dessert: https://s32.postimg.org/lbds9xmj9/Vinnie_Souffle.jpg "There i...

Re: The WHY?!? snare thread.
Very nice. Is that a radio king? I see you have a Joel Rothman book. He lives about 3 miles from me. I visit his house every now and then and buy books from him for my students, mostly 'Reading, Rudiments and Rock Drumming' or the three 'R's book as he calls it. I was taught reading (not by him) fro...

Re: The WHY?!? snare thread.
I've not bought gear for a long time but find myself buying some now. After buying a 10 ply Gretsch maple snare a few days ago, (I was a bit 'meh' about it after gigging it this weekend but really like it now) I ended up with an even sweeter drum today. It's 3 ply maple/poplar/maple, really responsi...

Re: Special GROOVES - Tunes with Trademark Grooves
I think Gavin Harrison once mentioned Japan drummer Steve Jansen as someone he likes, with some unique ideas. Re: Gretsch Brooklyn's
Congratulations. It's always exciting to get new drums. Don't forget to shoot video of your "unboxing".... Not wishing to hijack sjj's thread but since we're talking about Gretsch, new products and unboxing, here's my brand spanking new drum which I'm excited about. Arrived this afternoon...
