Re: Meet the new boss

I'm not going to argue or predict the future of computing. Do some work with a large public utility and see how much "cloud" buy-in you get. Google is unable (or unwilling) to guarantee security, so their cloud (God I hate that term) has issues. Microsoft Azure will likely have better luck...

Re: Meet the new boss

Apple must have done something right. They have a good amount of scratch. Where do you think all the "scratch" comes from? Most of it is from people who want easy access to CONTENT. Without the music and movies, all you're left with is a piece of plastic that lets you play "Words Wit...

Re: Meet the new boss

i understand your old school views. it's a different school now. Please. Apple hasn't done anything that hasn't already been done. NOTHING. They just put some shiny boxes around it and bought some air time promoting it. Apple is the McDonalds of the tech world. I don't eat at McDonalds either, but ...

Re: Meet the new boss

Of course the artists feel they should make more than the companies, but then the companies are offering a service that the artist can not easily do themselves. Re: Chris Coleman solo explained

I love his playing. Absolute monster. I don't like his sound in those clips, but I would love to pick up some music that he's played on. Recommendations anyone?

With who? Who is touring and actually making money? What big acts that hire sidemen are out there on tour paying big bucks? Name two.

Re: Meet the new boss

I asked earlier if anyone had a solution, and I got no takers. The solution exists, as do the laws, but the big tech companies are doing all they can to see that they don't have to share in the profits. Once they're forced to pay up, everything will (or should) be fine. Then we can go after the Liv...

Re: Meet the new boss

Observations on the music industry today: - The absence of big labels and the slow, leaking boat of radio .... - Music tastes have gradually moved beyond traditional stage bands. People still love singers, but electronica .... - Consumers have no clue about life as a musician beyond ... - Music as ...
