Re: Home recording
Extra mics will help give to control to focus individual drums.. but you will still have a washed out set of overheads.. better to clean up the room then add other mics and extras..

Re: Home recording
It's not ideal in a kitchen but try and get some absorbtive stuff on the walls. 2 blankets hanging from 2 coat racks.. or whatever you can do. If you clean the room sound up your setup will sound totally useable.. Right now it's good but a bit washed out.. Adding extra mics etc won't help it will ju...

Ts is a mono signal.. Trs is a stereo signal or mono signal at twice the db. The compression is mic gain input rel...

I play to a click live for all my gigs... It's really evened things out for me.. I use a shaker and cowbell. Suited for the tempo and groove of the song. Once and awhile I'll be in a situation that I don't use a click.. Muscle memory wise I'm still in the zone form playing with a click. Be carefull ...

I don't recall him saying he just "sent it up to the universe" He said it twice, for those who have ears to hear ;) Go to 24:46 (talking about intent) " You put it out in the universe and it's amazing. I'll give you an example. I was doing a lot of sessions and I thought You know, th...

Re: Playing Covers: How Picky is Too Picky???
My band tries to get the essence of the song.. and then makes it our own, by orchestration and our own limitations or character. Never had a complaint or comment negatively except from other musicians,.. Most people don't care as long as they can recognize the songs, and are having fun that's all th...

Re: Playing Covers: How Picky is Too Picky???
It depends on the venue and the type of band.. If it's a bar gig, your job is to sell beer and get people mingling and having fun. If you're doing a tribute band then have it together. The realty is the cover scene pays the same as it did 30 years ago.. 30 years ago $125 a guy was worth something an...
