Re: VINNIE - Vintage videos. Ok...or no vintage.

I don't think that's true. I can spot at least 40 things in the pack which aren't on the site.

Edit: Thanks for flagging this up renardvert, I've just downloaded it and it is GREAT. So much stuff which, unless you subscribed to MD since 1982 and kept all the copies, you won't find elsewhere...

Re: Phil Collins

I heart Phil - his drum sound on Trick of the Tail (76) is my favourite drum sound ever.

His touch on this tune is so, so perfect. It's sublime really. Those subtle fills...

Re: VINNIE - Vintage videos...OK or not vintage.

It's the same kit (presumably not the same session..?) as the one in the pic in the interview Paul just posted http://vinniecolaiuta.com/Interviews/Drum2014 . Interesting to see the Yamaha sig snare in the background - lots of in the know people seem very sniffy about it and say he never used it, bu...

Re: VINNIE - Vintage videos...OK or not vintage.

I saw this via link from the HOD homepage! (Anyone remember the HOD homepage?)

I know there's some Mitchell-era Vinnie on this thread but I've not seen this one specifically.

Re: Drummers who are far better musicians than players

HOD is one of the few drum forums where discussion is actively discouraged... Kurtis said something about this being the best drum forum on the web (in a thread, later deleted, in which everyone savaged someone for posting a video of themselves) because there were no soft-balls. I think this concept...

Re: VINNIE - Vintage videos...OK or not vintage.

+1 Steve.

He's gone from ludicrously high cymbals (compared to his seat height) in the early 80s, to really very high in the early 90s, to super-super low now...

Look how high his ride cymbal is in the Ten Summoner's Tales recording!
