Re: Best HD Video and Audio Recorder for under $500

Steve, I have a Zoom Q3 HD, and I have heard all of the knocks against it (audio, video etc.) But in my experience, I have not seen or heard any of it. Here are a bunch of videos that I have posted on my youtube page, all done with a Zoom, just plugged in, aimed, and hit record. On the poorly aimed ...

Re: The great Brian Blade

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51L6%2BwXy2zL.jpg I've got this too, and I am amazed that more people aren't talking about it. 3 CD's of Chick, Chris, and Brian just burnin! Chick has played (and recorded as a leader) trio with so many wonderful (and DIFFERENT!) drummers, I mean just think ab...

Re: Shameless Self Promotion / Anyone in Sao Paolo wanna mee

Big congrats on the book John. Completing a book project (or any project) is no small fete!
(I know from whence I speak, I'm in the midst of a book deal now!)
I'll check it out, after I'm done writing!

Congratulations!!!!

Re: Tuning a 16" head to itself

Check your edges (top and bottom) even GREAT drums can develop some edge issues (shipping, gigging, being transported in bags.) Sometimes even a minor edge issue (that can hardly be seen by the naked eye) can cause tuning nightmares! Check your rims to make sure they lay flat too. Has this happened ...

Re: Phil Collins

Me too Steve, I can sing every drum note on each of those! I even dug some stuff on "No Jacket Required." I have never heard anything about it not being Phil on "Easy Lover" (and upon listening, I can't believe it's anyone but Phil.) Steve check out the live show from Lamb Lies D...

Re: Bethlehem PA Musikfest

No reason to be jealous Paul, it's just a gig! But as I said, I did I drum-cam this gig with my Zoom, and have uploaded it to youtube in four parts. As I think I have said here in the past, this is an interesting gig due to the presence of the two other percussionists (congas, and timbales/bells.) P...

Re: Bethlehem PA Musikfest

We had a GREAT gig, promoters said we played to a few thousand. I talked to a few fans afterward that had also seen Steely Dan (right next door,) I also snuck in to catch a tune, and they sounded great! There was a fantastic singer-songwriter from Tennessee on before us and he was REALLY good! Sort ...

Re: Your Latest Fav Piece-a-Gear?

Christopher, No reason for snare envy, they're just instruments, alone they do nothing! But there ARE a bunch there whose sound really inspires me (and the musicians around me.) I think that different instruments (sounds) can inspire you to use different parts of your vocabulary (both in ideas and f...
