What's Dennis actually playing here?

He always seems to throw this into the peak of his solos, where he's going crazy on the snare cymbals. You probably know what I'm talking about without watching the videos. It definitely seems to be more than just singles, sometimes he has busier bass drum hits. I even remember a Drum Channel thing ...

What do you mean as far as PDF hell though? I guess I don't understand the difference between postscript and PDF.

Could I export the graphics into MS Word instead of Apple Pages?

Notation software for music and text

Does anyone know of a good music notation software that is also good with text? I'm working on a snare book and need something that's good at both. Tried Musescore, but but it's no good for text. Looked for music plugins for MS Word, but only found windows... putting all this into PDF format is turn...
