They still seem to me to be low volume cymbals, with a defined upper limit, but they sound superb, and deliciously chocolatey with a hint of cinnamon and perhaps some clove or a subtle whiff of nutmeg.
My 2002s are more nutmeggy, in fact.

Ill give it a whack. Picture a trumpet part, the trumpet player may be more concerned with the notes than the absolute rhythm. He migth be talking about flow and smoothness. If we concern ourselves with the quarter and not the entire phrase, we might play "to the quarter" rather than the p...

I saw Branford with Tain a long tume ago at IUP in Indiana PA. People walked out immediately after the show. No encore. They went out. Tain was insane. Hung around afterwSrds to view all the white music students give him an award. He wAlked away from those idits saying "stupid white kids" ...

Light as a Feather is an incredible record, the sound and playing. I havent listened to that n years. Airto knocked me out, that fluid creative style. Fun to try to emulate, like Trilok, very focued on upbeats and interplay.
