Re: Hip hop in odd time signatures?

I did a couple gigs in the mid 90s with Fareed Haque where we played an instrumental hip hop version of Led Zeppelin's "The Crunge" with a hard swing. While not "proper" hip hop, it was a fusiony urban thing that was really cool as hell. 9/8 of course. The idea worked.

Re: STYX Grand Illusion/Pieces of Eight dvd

Hey Juan, There are many factors involved to properly answer your question. For one, I suffer with the inability to please myself. I can find fault with myself easily which has always been an issure for me. When I'm pleased, I'm pleased but that comes with a process at times. Without throwing my ban...

Re: STYX Grand Illusion/Pieces of Eight dvd

Hey, thanks a lot, guys. Randy, thanks for posting this. I must say that I think this is far and away the best live release we've ever done. It's the best representation of this band live, and my work within it. Almost all of the "live releases" we've done, from a personal playing stand po...

Re: Musicians' biographies?

"Full Moon" by Dougal Butler. Hilarious accounts of Keith Moon by his personal assistant (Dougal Butler) of ten years. It's a shame it's out of print, but it's worth tracking down on Ebay or Amazon. Every now and then some nutbag is selling a copy for 300 bucks, but hold out...you can find...

Re: Methods & Mechanics II DVD

Josiah, I've been to Colorado once for a clinic and I can tell you that the entire cost wasn't anywhere near $5,000, much less $20,000. I have no idea what your information is based on, but it's not based on reality using United States currency. You are way, way off. Oh wait--- you're the guy that a...
