Re: Vinnie's new cymbals
I love the ride and I'm getting one of those snares soon because of Vinnie. The china is a very different animal from his Zs. Much softer and easier to use quite a lot. Everything works well together. Still not a fan of the kit though and I don't really get those splashes, I'll still take my A custo...

Re: Branford interviews
"...we don't feel that we have to assert a national superiority." As a Norwegian watching the news, and George carlin would probably also agree, this is the most hillarious statement I've ever heard. When I studied in the US I was also constantly told thet Europeans can't swing. I so...

Re: Russ Miller leaves Yamaha- Yamaha moving to China?
China is changing, so people who are aware should consider changing their attitudes as well.

Re: Vinnie's new cymbals
They sound kinda cool, but it's hard to judge both out of context and for a youtube video. So far, ot me, they seem not as sweet in the top as the A Customs and despite that they also seem to cut through less. I don't have enough experience to talk about consistency of Zildjians. All I know is that ...

Re: imagining practice
I remember a quote I heard from Jaco Pastorius in my early teens. Since then I started visualizing the guitar neck and learned scale patterns on the bus to and from school. It works great with everything, though. I often mention this to my students both on guitar and drums.

Re: Vinnie's new cymbals
Paolo Vinaccia uses a 40" Hubback ride. That's a big cymbal.

Re: 24" cymbal bag/case?
Someone really should should make a hardcase with bag inserts. I find it sort of strange that it doesn't seem to exist.

Re: 24" cymbal bag/case?
Not from experience, but Protection Racket and Humes & Berg seems to get good reviews and makes 24" sizes. I still haven't picked up one myself as I still don't know if there''s any bag/case that can hold my full setup. I'm considering the biggest Protection Racket one if I can get assuranc...

Re: Steve Smith
Steve's got his stuff down, but I sort of view him more as a reference book than an inspired artist.
