Re: John McLaughlin and 4th Dimension show review
I caught John McLaughlin and 4th Dimension: Marc Mondésir on drums, Gary Husband on drums/keys and Étienne M’Bappe on bass (how can he play with gloves?!?). Excellent show! But THE question is: How can a guy play keys AND drums at this level. It's not like Gary is a great drummer who happens to pla...

Vinnie's ride on 'Secrets'
Does anyone know what ride(s) he used on that record? Was it the A Ping with the Brilliant finish? Thanks for anyone's help.

Re: Cool Double Drumming with Stewart and Hutchinson
That looks and sounds like fun. Cool idea.
Didn't Fripp start the double trio idea? Maybe they should call the band, 'Swing Crimson'.

Re: Alesis SR-16
Please indulge me this moronic question... I just happened upon an Alesis SR-16 for a steal, and now it sits in my drum room silent. Why? Because I have no idea how to use it. Can I put an 1/8th inch to 1/4 inch jack on a set of headphones and hear it? Or do I have to get an actual speaker? Anyone ...

Nice work Steve. I think I know what music I'm asking for, for Christmas. I love the hi-hat finesse around 2:42.

Re: Carl Palmer
I don't think it's CP's time. I think the music demands a lot of precision and there are spots where the players just aren't locked in. No, it's definitely his time. Check out "Heat of the Moment" by Asia. Check the tempo at the beginning against the tempo near the end. Scary. No wonder m...
