Re: Len Davis Presents - Vinnie Colaiuta
What does Vinnie think of the digital revolution and recording his playing? Session 2 @ 22:22 Much discussion about why he gets "sand in his vag"...listen to the man himself. This explanation is very consistent as to why he booked like a madman after the guy video taping him when I saw th...

Re: Dream Theater
"I want to be in this band!" -M Mangini There is something very revealing about a simple reflection that separates one individual from the pack. Speaking of DT ( break from the Mike fanboy news )...what type of snare/heads is on this cover? I am digging this POP for some reason. http://ww...

Re: Frank Briggs
Briggs has got to be the most accomplished "who's that?" drummer around. Frank can play drum gymnastics with the best of them but also can lay down some voluptuous fat thick boned time in the best 'yum yum' of ways. One of my all-time favs for sure...great human being to boot! Check this o...

Very nice Louie...
Husband is a beast...I know Virg plays keys, but at this level?
Can you imagine Gary playing a set behind keys...then strolling over to the drums,
making a few jokes about drummers, and then wailing. That's entertainment!

glimpsed on Steve's infamous home movie
What did you hide the camera in again Steve? Whatever
it was, thank you for not drinking it or moving it.
Key to all great boots...still cam!

Re: Tommy Igoe moves to Yamaha
Bottom line...do whatever it takes to get your sound from the mission control center we call snare drum!
When you go public, then you are selling you...and the snare sound is the fullest expression of this.
It should be very personal.

Re: Vinnie with Yu-Ming & The Jerry Hey Horns
That's a whole lotta musical studio power for that vocalist.
Who is backing her ($$)? A classic example imo that any
average singer can sound far better than average with a
supporting cast like this.
Boy, VC's snare is tight and flat here. Intended?

Re: Playing Electronic Drums
I recommend them to churches when I do consults, they are great for situations that need extreme volume control without driving the drummer crazy. Yes Gadd...agreed! Last church I was in back in the States in TN had a guy playing a Yamaha kit. Soundboard guy was clueless and drums were too loud...o...
