Re: Modded Paradiddle Diddle thing..

The Paradiddle diddle lick was designed for folks with weak left hands haha,, and slow feet,,.. None of these foot doubles or LL's haha I've always had trouble with things like your version and Gadd's Ratamacue thing.. RlrrlK is the lazy mans way to sound impressive haha... Loved that fill Cliff did...

Re: Modded Paradiddle Diddle thing..

Thanks guys... I was quite pleased how the audio turned out.. I only used my new Uad tape simulator plug in on the tracks and a tiny bit of verb..

I love how my camera shakes every time I hit my kick.. Thunder kick... haha.. Need to work on my camera angles..lol

I made a vid for a buddy of mine.. Wanted to see If I could integrate my Little Kodak camera with my studio setup.. You guys might get a chuckle out of it. Re: Stick Quest

Probably just a bad batch of sticks.. Maybe a batch that got dried out a bit..
I find humidity in sticks really effect weight, vibration and durability.. Did you get them all at the same store?

Might be why the Promarks last longer...

Re: Building Vocabulary- time frame?

drumsrdrugs For me it can take 6 months for something to actually be used well.. How often do you gig or play in a band? If once or twice a week, that doesn't equate to very many attempts to use it.. I'm assuming once or twice a night,.. One thing I notice for me is that context is huge for applying...

Re: New Years Eve gigs anyone?

My gig was a rough one.. At 12pm, got a call.. One of the singers in the band's Husband died early in the morning..
Had to do a mad flail to find another singer as she did the bulk of the tunes...
Weird day.. Gig went well, but weird day... One for the books for sure..

Re: Sight reading

I'd also add, try to make your own charts,... As best you can,.. the real deal with repeats ect... Start with really basic tunes and work your way up.. Having to write stuff out yourself is a challenge if you haven't done it, and it really helps out with the recognition of common rhythms and figures...

Re: Ask A Drum Tech!!!

To do the non spring thing,, U'd have to have the bass drum skin tight so it would bounce,.. Just like Doing a Freehand technique into a dead drum skin with a pillow behind it a modern sounding tuned kick drum probably wouldn't work.. It would just be to get he right balance of beater height ect.. a...
