Re: Weckl no longer with Yamaha?

Whoever thought to abbreviate WECKL to WECK should be commended as 'genius' ! Some people are just meant to lift mankind and free them of unnecessary constraints on their time. You, sir, with your creativity, have enabled the rest of us to live more of our lives, to tend to our passions, to serve o...

Re: SXSW 2012

I'm not playing myself, but I do know a few bands locally who are down there. Looks like a great time and an awesome experience! I'd love to get down there for next year's SXSW.

Re: Stand By Your Stick!!

For a while I used strictly Todd's signature Promark stick. Lately, though, I've been finding myself going to the Vater Power 5B, which is like an elongated 5B, or believe it or not the Zildjian Dave Grohl signature, since to me it feels just like the Power 5B. If I can't find one, I usually go with...

Re: Poll: Timekeeping... external or internal?

One thing that playing with a click does is solve any conflict regarding time in a group situation. If a member feels the time is off (too fast/too slow) instead of just blaming the drummer- it creates a dialogue within the group as to where everyone feels a song tempo should be! not always! :o :sh...

Re: Berklee advice

As much as it pains me to agree with Josiah ( ), he's right on this time. If you can get your shit together before attending, you'll be way ahead of the pack there. Maybe even try for a scholarship of some sort. A friend of mine attended when Antonio Sanchez was there, and he says that Antoni...

Re: Showcasing Your Band

My band actually just did a showcase for a management company who wants to represent us. It was very low key, the two gentlemen came down and watched us play about 10 or so of our songs, and then we went from there. We've built up a popular following in our home base (Providence RI), and we're tryin...

Re: STYX Grand Illusion/Pieces of Eight dvd

Hey Juan, There are many factors involved to properly answer your question. For one, I suffer with the inability to please myself. I can find fault with myself easily which has always been an issure for me. When I'm pleased, I'm pleased but that comes with a process at times. Without throwing my ba...

Re: Chris Dave and friends

I love those new D'Angelo clips. Great to see him back out there performing. Chris Dave is a perfect fit for his music too, although I do love ?uestlove's playing with him from the Voodoo tour and album.
