Re: Drum Set Recommendations
I don't want to get into my horrendous cadeson experience. But on a good note, the 10+ year old Cadeson Basswood kits sounded real nice. The laquer maple finish Basswood kit sounds pretty awesome. But their "top of the line" stuff is nowhere I wanna go.

Re: My practice log
Wish I had a job, some more money You know, there are jobs out there that have nothing to do with music. Wash dishes at a restaurant, anything. All I know is that I've seen multiple threads of you buying stuff, and then talking about not having a job. Now you are wishing for more money? Yes, it wou...

Re: Your desert island snare...
The last thing I want on a desert island is a snare. That is a good point -- though I don't know if it would be the last thing I would want. Here are some things I think are on the list of last before I turned down a snare drum: A cobra A tiger The Sham Wow guy Cottage cheese Bridget Jones Diary (D...

Re: Weckl and Holdsworth
Since when do Chad's drums sound bad? I have seen him play 6 feet away unmiked, twice. And once at MD Fest with AH. His drums sounded fantastic.
Chad has serious technique that creates a great sound.

Re: Home recording.
Interface: This is where opinions are wanted. (But offcourse also about the little Mac if it seems uncapable.) I know I want at least 8 inputs. I know I can go really cheap, but it would be nice for things to be generally passable long term. I've looked around at several models and so far the Focus...

Re: Home recording.
Get a Mac Pro with 32GB of ram and 16 cores. That should work good enough to record. You can get double the power on a Windows computer for half the cost. And forget about trying to use a laptop for anything serious. You need a minimum of two hard drives, ideally solid state. A laptop with those sp...
