nice try. just a gimmick. bad script. wrong way to go about it. would like to try it out just for shits and giggles. would use on a carpet and see if it lets the bass drum sing more.

it's a little bit better than basses loaded. dave plays some nice stuff on this new release. and it does sound pretty darn good.

nice robben ford clip. been a while since i saw that. to bad the live at my place 1988 boot doesn't have any video. some of my favorite vinnie stuff is on that boot. the tune Getaway just kills me. his pocket is just unreal. the fills, ideas and phrases are out of this world.

If I have the timing correct. It just seems like triplets, accenting the 1st beat with a bass drum and crash..albeit at a redonkulous rate of speed.

yup, that's it alright. fast indeed. one of his go to thrill fills.

i so miss the 90's vinnie with sting. loved it when he had the cymbals nice and high. guess as you get older the cymbals get closer to the earth.

thanks for those weckl french toast links. i need to get those recordings on disc or hard drive. it just goes to show dave weckl was born with a gift from the drum gods. he will go down as one of the greatest of all time. he's in my top 2.

great drum rooms guys. keep em coming. mine is in shambles. will post once it's put together. i wanna see Gavin Harrison's drum shed. The kit he learns and sheds the stuff he needs to maintain and come up with new stuff.

in regards to the mike johnson video of him playing his new gretch kit... didn't sound that good. the 10" tom was ok. had tone but the tone died out real fast. didn't do that long note he described. the 16" tom was dead. no tone. it's so easy to get those drums to speak! would like to hear...
