Re: Dave Elitch on Jimmy Fallon

Thought it was funny listening to Steve Smith's audio on the history of rock drumming...
he mentions interviewing Elvis' drummer...DJ...he was not into the "pop" thing at the time
but needed a gig...so he became the drummer for Elvis. There ya go...nothing new under the
sun.

Re: Official Virgil Donati thread

Listening to Red Air, I kept thinking about Tony Williams Lifetime.
TW and that band really laid the foundation for all of this imo.

Re: Official Virgil Donati thread

Keep in mind Virg is in his mid 50's...all the more uberhuman

That one vid...page 14 was insane...I agree w/Steve, at times
I get bored, but not that one. I feel the same w/Vinnie...when
there is a story of ideas, I am more entertained...even if it for
technical purposes ala clinic or whatnot.

Re: New Sting album coming out

Agree w/Kurtis, why Falling in Between? Earlier recordings could have been where the shark jump occurred like Mindfields, but if you liked that, FIBetween fits the style imo. Title track is killa... side track, but original thought ran its course... Artists age...Sting ain't 25 anymore...I think we ...

Re: Harold Brown: WAR drummer (Int possibility???)

Who cares what everyone else thinks. hmmm, not sure where that came from. not a matter of who cares, but that of sharing. I realize this forum is far to the side of a Dave Elitch over a Harold Brown...but I think it is a matter of respect and dignity...at least for me. the man paid his dues, moved ...

Harold Brown: WAR drummer (Int possibility???)

I am sitting here, trying to download the Porcaro interviews from the other thread and mention to the guy working on the house about this and he pauses, then says his mom is dating the drummer from WAR, Harold Brown. So I ask the HOD fam...is there interest in an audio interview here? I asked and wa...
