Re: Lombardo gets the boot.
hmm, seems like someone's getting a better deal out of all of it than Dave...I guess if the fans feel strongly enough they should vote with their feet. People are, more and more tickets are being put up on eBay daily. Freese pulls out and finished up with A Perfect Circle and it just started the ba...

Re: Hey Gavin Harrison, how did you like NAMM?
For those of you in Euro-land here's a pretty good indication of the street prices http://www.thomann.de/gb/search_dir.html?sw=sonor+protean&x=0&y=0 As far as I know in the States it's like this: $699 12" Standard version (no case and only the steel wires) + dampening rings and tuning ...

Re: Vinnie's new cymbals
I have found in recent year you have to dig deep in the shelves of may drum stores to find a decent sounding Zildjian anything these days. Last couple of years I have been using the older K's and A Customs and have grabbed K Custom Hybrids along the way but these were direct from the supplier but I ...

Re: New kit with a 5 month wait for now non-standard sizes.
As far as leaving them in cases.. no way! I play them out consistently. 99% of my gigs are through a fairly serious PA and the extra sustain provided by iso mounts would have to be damped to be agreeable. I don't miss the RIMS or YESS one bit. I love the rack toms being a little short sounding. The...

Re: New kit with a 5 month wait for now non-standard sizes.
I bought one of the 40th Anniversary RC's in white.. it is a killer kit. I love the tom mounts being on the shells of the rack toms. They just sound 'right'. Interested in the results of this recording/shootout. I was looking at one of those but knowing me it would stay in cases and would never lea...

Re: New kit with a 5 month wait for now non-standard sizes.
Steve, If/when I get the right gig, I may have to take you up on that. I've never played a RC kit before... I must admit it was back in the 90's that I played one and the sound and feel just stuck with me. Ever since then I have always wanted one and this year I have finally had the chance to nab o...

Re: 24" cymbal bag/case?
I purchased a Mono cymbal bag and I love it, soft lining, great compartment sizes and very light.
Not sure if they make it up to a 24" but it's worth checking out.
