Re: Steve Ferrone

Echoed the consistency of Jeff saying record with Gretsch and play gigs with Pearl.
Nice story about Sound City and Jack Dejohnette.

Re: Omar Hakim interview

Kudos to Omar and Neal for teaching him the set in 24 hours ala FB page. Arnel looks tired. Deen owns this gig, but his BD pattern was annoying on this one. Re: Omar Hakim interview

OK...after watching Omar on those huge toms he will do the Journey gig well! His vibe will only bless that band...the man is very secure with his woman freeing him of all THAT distraction on the road. Omar is very in the moment...will be good for Journey to be part of the experience and musical wisd...

Re: Drum Camp topic: drum camp reviews and info

Yeah...I'm w/Kurtis on this one. I'd like to know all about his love of cars, what books he reads, movies he likes. No problem with that. Does Charlie Rose say, "Al Pachino...no, let's not book him, been around since the 70's...done a lot of movies...let's get that Zack kid instead." A new...

Re: DRUMEO lessons

Brilliant...song drumming at its finest. I can hear the song in my head when plays.
Great tom sound...snare a little flat for me, but them hats were sweet!
For this guy to have the level of music still in him after all these years is his greatest
gift. The sticks just allow him to release it.

Re: Highlights from a recent clinic

I examine patterns of creative thought in the New York jazz community as they developed from the relative heteronomy of modernist bebop improvisation to the postmodernist aesthetic of jazz-rock fusion resulting in the emergence of collective autonomy in musical interaction and improvisation. Ahhh, ...

Re: Steve Smith

Smith in Lubin is just smokin the blazing trail so hard it's ridiculous!
Now there's a dude with a cam that records good sound...those toms
were spot on. Smith like like watching a flowing river. His technique
is flawless, graceful, sensuous. He has aged very well.
