Guys, this is great. It's the Hutch audio archive from Smalls in New York. You can hear a collection of sets that he's played on. Really worth a listen.

Re: Looking For a Mentor
Have you considered another instrumentalist as a mentor and not a drummer? I've gone back to university in Glasgow this year to study Jazz and my biggest mentors so far have been one of tutors who's a trombone player and Saxophonist Tommy Smith who is the head of the course....they provide advice an...

Re: Paiste Twenty Masters Collection
Only if you endorse Zildjian. Otherwise, you should always obey your ears, not the logo on the cymbal. Even when you're playing some brand exclusively there's nothing wrong with having some specific part that you won't find in "your" catalog. You just take the logo off it. Soundest advice...

Re: A question of psychology
Guys, Thank you. Your advice has been amazingly sound. I know all of this...but sometimes I need it basically rammed down my throat to make me take the medicine. I'll keep you posted of my success/failure. I have a lot of different things on my mind when I play...from the fact that I can't sometimes...

A question of psychology
Guys, How do any of you playt a gig and not let the events of the day or whatever's in your head cloud your playing? It's something I'm trying to get rid of and finding it quite tough. I'm playing a lot of jazz at the moment and finding it difficult to concentrate through a whole night and also just...
