Re: some super nice cliff almond

Cliff has been on this gig longer than any other drummer. He left it to do Manhattan Transfer for about 5 years and then returned. I believe Tom Brechtlein took over the Transfer and then Hass. I think it's been around 22 years that he's been doing this gig with Michel. I saw him with Michel when he...

Re: LAMA

yep, my instinct about this forum was spot on. Negative negative negative. God bless him if he has the money to spend and he's not that much of a serious player. LAMA and MI are filled with hobbyist students from what I hear anyway. At least he's helping float a dying art. Live music. Everyone seems...

Re: Steve Hass new youtube channel!

Well I thought those comments did come off that way simply because there's much more to that video than the sound quality. There's usually something malicious behind only mentioning what you don't like. As I wrote earlier though, that seems to be the theme here. I was just in the lama thread and I w...

Re: LAMA

What I love about this is that I can see the amazing impact teachers have had on their students. You guys are ready to throw punches. I believe all schools are great, and it's what you do with your education after you leave. Berklee has the most successful alumni list. Doesn't mean it's the best, ju...

Re: Steve Hass new youtube channel!

Going through the boards I see that members are very to quick to judge some of the current greats on the scene. I can't say I get that. If you go to Steve Hass' site, you'll read that this is a part of a studio workshop that he's offering at his studio in LA. We know him to be an all around player a...

Re: New Product: Sabian Omni

I have to add, wow Jojo is sick at that drum and bass. It makes sense that he's mastered every hand technique. In order to play that style the way he does you need hands that can do anything. I love his drumming. If he was more into studio drumming and/or jazz I believe he would be more of a househo...

Re: New Product: Sabian Omni

Yamaha player, that's simply not true. The entire dual lathed concept was brought to us by Sabian. It didn't exist before Sabian brought it to manufacturing. Sabian is by far the world's most innovative cymbal maker. Think about the Jack Dejohnette line, there's nothing like it. The O-zone line? Not...

Re: SoCal lessons wanted

I'm pretty sure all the greats living in SoCal are open to teaching. Weckl, Ralph Humphrey, Peter Erskine, Novak, Panos, Bissonette, Hass, Lang, Donati and probably many more. I believe their website's have the info.
