Maybe try adjusting your buffer settings and/or freeze some tracks. Also, watch out for running too many plugins within your project - especially when tracking.
That Upside Down tune is one of my favorites. I think someone transcribed those flams at the start of his solo a loooong time ago. That whole solo is just ridiculous. Guilty as charged! Now, can you tell me how to count this. There's a couple of 6/8 bits I think, but the rest I haven't got a clue! :? I would guess for leverage in a backbeat situation. Although those guys did play that way with just about any style. I find myself doing it sometimes when I want to play louder or "fatter" type of backbeats. It is more of a feel thing.
