Vinnie Colaiuta playing the Black Page #1

Hey guys,

Have you ever heard Vinnie playing the Black Page #1? I'm curious because I've heard Bozzio and Wackerman playing it numerous times but never Vinnie even though it's said that he played it as an audition piece for the Zappa gig.

All I could find is Vinnie playing the Black Page #2, it's pretty good and quite fast compared to those I've heard before.

As a Zappa and (a Vinnie) fan I've spent to much time hoping to find VC playing the BP#1. Sorry to say but naive as I am, I'm still searching. Gonig to zappa discography I come the conclusion that #1 is only performed by Zappa on stage with Bozzio on drums. What I did find was some other famous drummers, besides Wackerman, performing this piece. Here are the links with Marco Minneman and Morgan Agren.




It looks to me that Agren is having this kind of pieces for breakfast, by the way.

If I have to believe the information on Thomas Lang's DVD he peforms this piece on his first DVD. Read it at: http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/thomaslangsolo.html Borrowed this DVD from a friend, watched both disks but it wasn't on it. Maybe it's on a newer release? Can anyone tell?
