I'm ashamed to say that I've never heard that song. I would have bet anything that that was SG playing. Thats just another example of the enormous shadow Gadd cast on everyone.

And soon anyway, Vinnie had his own trademark.

Absolutely, man. While I've never heard a track that was a complete Gadd clone from Vinnie, I hear little things that were Gadd influenced, even in some of the Zappa stuff. You can always tell it's Vinnie though. I've never heard him say as much in interviews but I've always wondered if his hi-hat work was as influenced by Zigaboo as much as Copeland.

Exactly Clint, as influences Vinnie talks about Tony, Billy Cobham, Zigaboo, Elvin, but not about Steve for whom he has of course the most sincere and deepest respect.

But yeah, that hi-hat work, it should be Stewart isn't it ?
