Virgil back in 1982 (video)

Postby Morgenthaler » Wed Aug 31, 2011 11:52 pm

It is fun (if you are into Virg) to see some of his signature chops being formed in his youth.
In retrospect they show themselves as rough sketches of what lies ahead. Great technique already then, almost 30 years ago.

Short clip. Enjoy if you will:

Here is a track from that same project, with Virgil on drums:

This is really cool. I love seeing where those guys are coming from, how they played before they got really known. Virgil already had a lots of chops back then and they were showing what was coming in a great way.

Thanks for the post!

I felt like he was channeling buddy with the first clip. Me like!

Yeah, thanks for reminding me... LOL

It's great to see these old vids, he already had massive chops back then, it's the ideas what really evolve through the years. Thanks for sharing!

Pretty damn amazing. I had no idea his chops were that good even back then. Thanks for sharing that!

He sounded great. He was 24, in case anyone was wondering. Born in 1958.
