Hi Matt!

I got some files right now that are ready to be seeded, like the Zildjian day clinic with Tony, Simon Phillips and Steve Smith but for some reasons, nobody seems to download these files so my ratio stays the same. I might look somewhere else, maybe I have something that needs seeding. I guess it'll work out.

Anybody knows what to do when you're blocked on dime because your share ratio is too low? Mine is at 0.18 right now and for that reason, I can't download that Vinnie file.

Thanks!

Daniel

If the problem is not a technical difficulty but only a share ratio violation, the answer is still the same:

I would recommend going through your video collection (got some Sting that is not on the tracker?) and see if you have anything interesting that is currently NOT seeded on DIME. If your source for a video is DIME that is still OK. You can "reseed" an old torrent which has fallen off the tracker. There is likely someone who either missed the original or was not a member when the original posted. This will give you maximum credit for your UL. If you jump on seeding a torrent late in its' life you might be competing with other seeders and you may experience a long wait before anyone jumps on to leach. . . older torrents have already been checked out.

If you torrent and share 4.5 additional gigs on DIME, you will be allowed to download and participate again. I am basing that on 25% of your 17.32gig DL status. Do you know how to upload your own torrents to share? If not we/I may be able to help out with more info.

You are seeding DVDs that you did not upload yourself. That is not the fastest way to fix your ratio. If you create and upload your own torrent you will solve your problem within a day, if not it could take weeks because you are also firewalled according to your DIME page (same name there). The effect of firewalling will mean that seeding already-existing torrents will be a very slow way to improve your ratio. Again, seed a new torrent that you create of a show not currently on DIME and you will see an almost immediate improvement in your ratio. Seed one 4.5 gig DVD and you will be able to participate in downloading DIME torrents again.

btw, 2 of the torrents you are seeding were upped by me. You have excellent taste but they are pretty old and not very active.

Yes, that's the one. I'm also seeding the show with Tony Williams, Ponty and Clarke.

I didn't even notice they were yours. Thanks!! We love the same kind of stuff it seems.

So I think I understand. If I want to seed some dvds, I have to seed those that don't have any copyrights and who are not available on dime anymore, is that it? (I'm quite new to this torrent thing, starting to get it...)

Check it out . . . I am currently downloading from 2 torrents that you are seeding. You are not getting ANY credit for that download because I am not connecting to you at all. This is a result of you AND me both being firewalled. This should exemplify how difficult it will be for you to fix your share ratio by only seeding old torrents.

What can you do? If you create a new torrent and Upload it and then seed it. This will get you the most immediate and maximum credit. You need 4.5 gigs to get yourself back to a share ratio of .25.

Technically you are seeding right now. . . it's just not working for you.
You must UPLOAD a new torrent that complies with DIME policies about copyright. It can never have been officially sold or officially released in any capacity. Television broadcasts are generally acceptable and make up a large portion of DIME's video torrents. Other videos are filmed by amateur tapers on handycams and the sort. The easiest thing is to RE-UPLOAD a video you got from DIME that is no loner listed on DIME. Maybe something you got when you first signed up?

An outside idea if you have nothing to offer DIME would be to acquire something that would work on DIME. This path will cost you a couple bucks and take a week or two, but it goes like this:
On the website ioffer.com bootleg sellers offer lots of DVDs for as little as $10. You could purchase a DVD from a seller on Ioffer and then UL it DIME. So choose one that would be DIME compliant before you decide. For example these 4 Miles Davis performances would be DIME compliant and are completely off the DIME tracker :

It's killing.

Big thanks for gruvdoctr for resurrecting the ancient technology of snail mail to get me a physical DVD. Reminds me of mailing around Phish bootleg cassettes back in high school.

grabbing this now; this is the first thing I've grabbed from dime in quite a while.

Keep seeding after you've leeched the files!

Thanks for this Vinnie footage. This is some great stuff? Just as good as the other DVD. Quality is not there but the playing sure is.
