I think Zildjian hit it out of the park with these:
I haven't purchased a cymbal new off the shelf in years, but I think for these a 22 would be worth the price. Prices are lower than Constantinoples too:
22" Kerope is $479
20" Kerope is $409
22" K Con is $519
20" K Con is $439

Those are some great sounding cymbals. Love the 22 and 18. Would like to own them someday. The crash on those baby's are sweet.

Yeah I've thought this for years.
They know that all jazz drummers love old Ks. Constantinoples are excellent but they're still different. I knew they had the means and I wondered why they never just came out with a line that was a straight rip of the old formulas. Here it is I guess...

I want these cymbals! I want the 22 and 18. sounds great when crashed. They sound like a cymbal you can control with the stick if it gets to washy. Versatile. Great bell! Its like a old K but improved. Old k's are the best.

Yea, really nice. No nasty coating on there, has character.

I'm guessing it was marketability. If they replicated the old K's too well, ultimately it would hurt the market for the vintage K's...which is so astronomical it actually helps their overall brand. They may love cymbals but no one ever said they weren't shrewd. haha
