Help identifying VC setup.
As an old musician, but new drummer I'm wondering if anyone is able to help identify Vinnie's cymbals, hi-hat and snare drum in the video from the Herbie record with Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi?

Post the video here so we can try and figure it out.

I'd say it's an Ayotte snare. Hi-hats could be anything.

Pretty sure the main cymbals are k constantinoples along with an oriental trash and some sort of splash with them. It would follow that the hihats are constantinoples as well, although I think he's been using new beats in recent years. As far as the second crash, I'm not sure, didn't get a look at that one.

lol, not to burst your bubble, but being Zildjians, you could own the exact same set up and it would sound way different, especially if you use different sticks.
You'd be better off walking into a cymbal vault blindfolded with a pair of sticks in your hand.

Couldn't that be said for any cymbal company?
As for the clip, it just does not grow old to me. Off to watch it again!

Not to mention the mics and process of recording, etc..
Definitely an Ayotte snare. Gotta love the super swamp groove Vince lays down, just beautiful playing.
As mentioned, you're best off using your own ears to 'hand' pick your own cymbals. The player, room, sticks, mics, etc play into the overall sound so much. Find YOUR sound.

Out of the big 3, Zildjian has a variance in the higher end K's more so then anyone else by far.

Oh crap! I watched whole thing and forgot to look at the gear. That's how bad-assed that performance was. Man, ST can sing with my band any time!!!
