Re: Drum&Bass question
You should check out Anders Meinhardt and his band FUKT. He's a good friend of mine.
He's the real deal + all the clips of him speaking Danish might still make some sense

Re: Drum&Bass question
I always like this one from squarepusher, very melodic
Re: Drum&Bass question
Tony Verderosa also has a Electronica book. It's not all D&B but it's worth a look.

The earliest demos from F.U.K.T.

GOOD stuff. Anders already had some major shizzle going on then!
This is all played by hand (and feet)

Re: Drum&Bass question
I play a lot of DNB and I really like to try and incorporate it into all different facets of my playing when I can. Playing this type of music made me think about how to use just a kick, snare and hi-hat. This set up encourages a "less is more" approach that has helped me focus on soloing without destroying the groove. You can come up with lots o new ways to orchestrate stickings and rudiments around such a small kit. Try listening to producers such as Squarepusher, LTJ Bukem, Grooverider, and Hive. They are good examples of this genre for drummers to listen to and try to reproduce live.
