Great, thanks for sharing!
What struck me was how his 10"/12" toms are placed
like they are today. Funny.

I noticed the tom thing too. Seems like he just went back to the way they used to be when he was young. Whatever works, sounds great.

Weckl must have been reincarnated from a prior drummer. You just don't get that good at 19!

First, wow, nice find! This is so cool.
Hmmm. His Gadd-isms weren't nearly as prominent as I've been led to believe. The samba was TOTALLY Gadd-like, but the other stuff was standard fusion fare for the era. The first two songs could've been Steve Jordan or anyone else who playing that kind of music in NY at the time. (Actually, ironically, Jordan would've been a little busier than that if he had that gig during that time).

My god he was good (and still is). And at such a young age. Crazy stuff.

And he is using a mounted tom on a stand (on the floor)
Very modern for that time, I think.
