Vinnie,
Buddy Rich played from 1 y.o. till he died at 70 y.o.
He gave us some great memories.
EVEN by 1979, the few recordings and boots
(Zappa, Karizma, Tom Scott)
that captured your playing then have given
us a lifetime of joy to listen to.
By 1979, it was so apparent your playing
was fully develped, your ideas and phrasing
matured well beyond your years and your technique
so clean and strong to support your endless
and spontanteous stream of musical thought
Since 1979, your playing since is the
'icing on the cake.' What a blessing !
Some selfish motive of mine almost wishes
you would start to repeat yourself, as it would
be nice to hear your past 30+ years of extremely
rarely repeated drumming played again in differnt
contexts, tempos and personnel who would musically
react in their own way with your drumming conversation.
Thanks for the memories,
keep making great music
God bless you.
