I finally got the speedcobras, and problems (help?)

So first day I tried them they were great, no problem, fast, smooth I was thrilled. Second day I prepare to record some demos we're doing with my band and I noticed they weren't responding so well and I realize the chain in the slave pedal is sort of "dancing" everytime I hit the pedal. From one day to the other the only persons who played the pedal were my guitarrist and keyboardist, but I doubt they could have somehow done anything to it just by tapping on it a bit.
Now my iron cobras don't do that "dancing" at all, and it really hampers the playability. I can return them and get some new ones (I was thinking the direct drive yammies) but I need to pay the shipping back and I am a bit paranoid I havent given these pedals enough chance. I freaked out that day and just got reallly nervous and put them back in the case not giving them any more chance, not without first adjusting them a bit (without success though).
Do you guys have any idea what could cause that "dancing" of the chain? it's like when I release the pedal after hitting it the chain doesn't remain straight, almost as if the pedal action was too fast for the chain. I swear the first try I gave it it just didnt do that. Should I just send it back and try the yammies? im really stressed about this cuz my first impression of them was so good, I certainly could play very fast and powerfully with them, I just dont know what the hell happened from one day to the other

What do you mean exactly? It sounds like the pedal may have just been positioned too far left or right and that it wasn't sitting flat on the floor. Otherwise, I can't imagine that you would have a problem with those pedals. Can you post a video showing what is happening?
If the connecting rod was firmly attached, and the pedals were sitting flush on the ground, there should be no problems.

I always have problem to explain myself in English when it comes to these kind of thing, but picture the chain sort of "flexing" when I lift my foot after a hit on the BD head. It doesn't remain tense but it wavers (?) And I did try adjusting the spring tension, the cobra coil tension, the beater angle and every other possible thing (until i got a back pain, got really stressed and just stored it back on the case).

Is the chain not lining up vertically over the cam after you release pressure, or is the footboard coming up faster than the chain? Maybe you adjusted the spring too tight.

The footboard seemed to be coming up faster than the chain, but as I said i adjusted it in many ways without any substantial change, and regardless it didn't seem a correct thing for the pedal to do, the Iron cobras certainly dont do that even with max spring tension and indeed the pedal didnt do it the first day i tried it with quite tight spring tension.
I dont know man, I could go back and try to adjust it some more before shipping it back? but im a bit scared of keeping a malfunctioning item.

I had the same problem.. There's an allen key adjustment that needs to be tightened.. There's a hidden circle thing underneath that needs to be adjusted..

Nope, I tried that and it did help with the noise the guy was talking about, which was indeed present, but didnt help with the chain thing im talking about.
Look what I think im going to do is go back to my rehearsal space this weekend and give it one more chance with a cooler head (the last day I had to record stuff and got very nervous, couldnt think straight). If I can't find a solution I will ship it back monday. What you think guys? good idea?

I ended up returning my Speed Cobras because I didn't find them any better than my Yamaha pedals (which I actually prefer). I didn't experience the issue you're referring to though. I don't know what to make of that, but if they're not working for you, definitely return them.
