Camber toppers that enable quick changing of cymbals

Hi. I am new to the forum. I've been playing the drums since the mid 70's.

I have a couple of questions about the cymbal wingnut replacements Camber made back in the 70's. These things made life easier. But it seems that nobody is making them these days. I was considering making up a batch of them for myself and possibly a few thousand more if others are interested.

The second photo here is what I'm thinking of making: http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/show ... hp?t=76117

My questions are:

Does anybody know if there is a patent on these things?

Are other drummers interested in these things?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Sonor makes a similar product that I find amazing.

Gibraltar has those new flip nut things...

But honestly, flipping a few wing nuts into place is a pretty minor issue. Seconds if that. Truly can't see how a wing nut difference makes 'makes life easier'.

That's probably why the various "solutions" to the "problem" have never taken hold, there is no problem. See Aquarian cymbal springs for example.

Now self assembling drum hardware, that would make life easier!!
