SXSW 2012

Postby willyz » Mon Mar 12, 2012 1:21 pm

In case it was missed in the weekend chatty- if anyone is in town playing shows or is looking to asssemble an HOD hang please feel free to PM me and let me know where you'll be!

For the first time in four years I'm not playing any SXSW gigs (whew!) and I'm actually able to get out and hang a bit- I'll be off work Thursday and Friday and will be roaming about town through Sunday.

Cheers!

I'm not playing myself, but I do know a few bands locally who are down there. Looks like a great time and an awesome experience! I'd love to get down there for next year's SXSW.

Seriously, I have 15-20 friends going this year, so if you bump into some Danes, say hi!

Uuuugh SXSW... brilliant marketing on an otherwise useless festival. I declined a gig to play down there. Just because, really, "Ohhh it's SXSW..." Don't support companies who rip off bands. SXSW is a scam through and through.

Scam you say? That implies some sort of monopoly with a controlling interest.... damn straight. Like how SonicBids is the exclusive provider of entertainment for the festival. Like how they charge, who knows how much, to 10s of 1,000's of aspiring bands to "apply" to the festival.

What a joke. Don't support this BS. It's a nasty, nasty thing that generates millions for a few companies and hasn't done jack diddle squat for musicians in years.
