Black Keys and White stripes I could never get into... just kind of... blah, to me.

Blood Red Shoes, however, I had never really heard before- I'll have to check them out. I still miss having the bass in the mix, but I wasn't thinking about it during the listen.

I saw them live in 2010...it was a kick-ass show! I didn't miss a bass at all.

Be it two members or 10, I have a hard time personally calling anything a band that does not have a bass. I can make the exceptions with organ groups, but even the Doors got a bass player for a while.
