That was truly cool. For an "experiment" that was pretty polished.

How about the pitting on the head of the inverted bass drum to his left!! :ugeek:

Indeed.

Virgil is a hard hitter. But due to his clean technique (I think) I've rarely seen him go through drumheads.

Rene wrote:Great song, really nice playing. Realy lovely hearing Virgil playing this music in stead of 21over 17 against 23 metric modulated over 15/16 vamp kind of stuff :D i.e me love the contrast... :D.

Most of his music is in 4/4 although he's ventured nicely into odd times now and then.

Here's another from that new Phil Buckle album, also in 4/4, albeit with a few beat displacements towards the end :)

I assume Sabian, but what is the model of the ride cymbal in this video? Could be perfect for a small practice space.

The entire 2012 OTV live Concert. (link to purchase DVD: https://www.drumtek.com.au/otv-on-the-v ... -live-dvd/)

I love this DVD because it shows what actually *can* be executed in a live prog fusion environment.
I noticed Doug Shreeve's facial expressions during 'Dragon Bones' (36:17) - one of my personal favs from Serious Young Insects, which amount to

"Holy fuck, we are doing this shit live!"
