A real prog banger from Steve Walsh. I still really enjoy this album.

11/8 + facility + imagination

I've known Virgil for 26 years and this is up there with the most awe inspiring I've ever seen him play:

Pretty great! Is that an 18" floor tom on his right, or a 16"?

Jeppe --
That was mind-boggling. Aside from his technical wizardry, Virgil just grooves the stuffing out of it. I watched the video 3 times just to hear him play time mixed in with whatever incredible "chops stuff" Virgil plays (he does it with smoke and mirrors, right? No one can play like that!! :D)
When in doubt...roll.

Hi Paul,

The first one on his right is an 18” - I believe it’s more or less the same sizes (different kit, obviously) as in this walk-through from a year back or so:

Interesting. I used to have an 18" floor tom as my only floor tom 40 years ago. Now a 16" seems big to me.
Regardless, Virgil sounds great, and I love that he's always doing his own thing.

The gift that keeps on giving: Alien Hip Hop

Virgil is touring with Panzer Ballet these days. Quite a good fit, in my opinion.
