I believe complex rhythms and their relationships in time can be understood through their hidden numerical code.
A code is a system of symbols, numbers, letters, etc,, substituted for other symbols, numbers, letters, etc.
In my opinion, musical notation is a symbol notation for numbers.

The phrase mark identifies a sequence of notes as a unified idea. A complete musical expression of shape and form.

Double click the file name rhythmschool to open the jpeg. Wait. I clicked on it to see if it opens, and the first time it took a while to open. The second time it opened quickly. the numbers don't really show you the duration as the symbols do though. The symbol is representative of both duration and (effectively) the number.

Thanks for taking the time to check it out.

It really works for me having the two notational systems coexist. I like working with both and showing the connection between the two. The symbol notation is awesome! I find flexibility in using it and not limitations with it. I would never choose to replace the system of musical symbols with numbers alone.

The "duration" i am referring to, is the number division/subdivision, (depending on ones point of reference), of 12345 12345 123123 1234 - The middle line of numbers, representing smaller divisions of the note symbols of line (A) - the 6 stroke roll being played, and the 3rd values of the 8th note triplet reference.

Without seeing a symbol notation for these smaller time values (12345 12345 123123 1234), the time duration between every note on line (A), or between the 3rd values (the notes of the 8th note triplet(s), must be known, or understood by the performer who is playing the larger time values on line (A), and feeling their durations correctly.
