Song for a summer's day

Postby Todd Sucherman » Wed Aug 01, 2012 1:04 pm

I thought I'd share this as it's such a great song and so true. This my pal, Joe Brucato, who is a colossal bad ass. He had Steve Gadd and Tony Levin on his last record…..anyway, this is out on Conesus Lake in western NY from a few days ago. What a great song for summer's day, and his voice is ridiculous. Enjoy-

Todd

Nice. Thanks for sharing. You're right, he has a killer voice. Excellent box playing.

Wow. That was... pure. Great song and voice, and Todd, it's been said before, but you are such a class act.
It just goes to show, all you need is an acoustic guitar, a Honda cardboard box and a nice summer's day!

Brings to life fond memories of Gadd on that Ampex box... :-)

Todd:
Sounds great, and your box playing was very tasteful!

By chance is he related to Bruce Brucato, who played guitar with local Buffalo fusion juggernaut "Gamalon" in the late 80's/early 90's?

I used to love to watch that band..... Ted Reinhardt is a great drummer, and it was only after talking to him that i found he played on the great Spyro Gyra album, "Morning Dance"
(Check out last song, End of Romanticism)

I met Ted back in the late 80s. Such an amazing, sincere, and humble guy. And man, what an amazing drummer!

Nice work Todd. :) Who's dog is that?

Thanks for the kind words and glad you all dug this….and Joe really is incredible. And a great human being to boot.

Benny---not sure about the relation to Bruce Brucato--but Joe is from Rochester which isn't far from Buffalo. I know Joe's dad is Chuck Brucato who was in the Rustix which was the first white band signed to Motown I believe.

Thanks for checking it out and hope you are all having a lovely summer-
Todd

Oh, and here's one more if you are interested--- from the same day with my wife Taylor joining us…

I'm not a fan of the Honda box sound.

Husqvarna and even Lawn-Boy boxes have such better tone. Higher quality cardboard, better ink and all.

What.

;)

jk. Awsome tune and playing, Todd!
