Ditto. Got to see the band at the Fillmore last March and it looks like they'll be back in May. I'll be there. I really enjoy Adam Holzman's contributions to the live band, he's a great player. Nick Beggs is great, too. The new SW CD is available for pre-order in various "deluxe" editions at Burning Shed:

Marco is growing on me in this context- but his gear sounds awful. That snare drum and the soulless pingy ride cymbal, specifically, leads me to believe that the sound of a poo hitting the floor would sound better.

Maybe Steven wanted something different from Gavin, and I totally get that. But it must be difficult to go from your band with one of the most best sounding and most musical drummers and then to- okay, now who is available that I can hire for my solo band?

Agree on that ride cymbal. I think Marco's playing sounds fine, but Gavin is much more interesting IMO.

"the sound of a poo hitting the floor would sound better"

I guess if he sees this he would consider a new snare, microphones and sound guy... ;)

The snare is cranked up to high. And his ride is to dry. No wash to it. If he fixes those two things all will come up roses.

Regardless who the drummer is, musically I think all of Wilson's material sounds exactly the same, all of the tracks blend into one big track, all quite predictable, and I don't believe he ever achieves making music as 'progressive' as he aspires towards.
Can't fault the playing on the video but people would find their time better spent listening to Egg or similar from 40 years ago...

Not my cup of tea, for sure. I dig Marco though (in other settings...)
