It's only math jazz if you don't understand... no insult intended, but there are far deeper things abound in this.

The time signature is only a single aspect of this.
These guys play off each other. If you have ever been to a Kneebody clinic , you would realize that these dudes make music on the spot.
All their shit is based off of musical signals, no hands, no voices... certain phrases and what happens after dictates the outcome. the "frame" or song from which they play in is only a minor thing they conform to.

It's funny that you pull a negative perspective on this without any knowledge of the guys.
Fear and rejection are common reactions to new and complex things.

Fear and rejection? Where did that come from?

And why do you assume I don't dig it, or understand? New and complex? :) huh?

My comment was more about the transcription of the bass, which I would have written very differently, and would be easier to read. The way it's written over complicates a very simple line.

I love the drummer's touch and his cymbal sound.

Ohhh yes. Nate Wood, one of the tastiest drummers on the scene right now (imo). Super multi-talented, excellent composer, and all-around amazing musician.

One of my personal fav tracks (killer drum sound): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLHe_wLD5TY

It's only Math jazz for illiterate imbeciles, no insult intended.
